The Chattanooga Valley Middle School football team extended its winning streak to three games with a recent 20-8 victory over Trion.

Jacob Russell was 4-of-5 passing for 121 yards, including a 70-yard strike to Zach Weathers. Weathers finished with two grabs for 78 yards, but left the game in the first quarter with a hip injury. Michael Brown added two catches for 43 yards.

Russell led the ground assault with 40 yards on 10 carries and caught a 2-point conversion pass from Larry Turner. Jamichael Marsh rushed three times for 60 yards and added a 93-yard interception return for a score on defense.

Joseph Fincher added to the defensive effort by intercepting a pass at the 10-yard line to halt a Bulldog drive. Dakota “Mountain Man” Pace tipped both passes that were picked off and came up with five tackles. Sam Cobb, Daniel Robinson, and Gabe Hendy were also standouts on defense for the Eagles.

CVMS will play at Lakeview on Thursday before traveling to Rossville on Tuesday. Both games will kick off at 4:30 p.m.
