Shorter University sophomore softball player and former LaFayette High School standout, Emily Clements, was recently named as first team All-East Region selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Clements, a utility player with the Lady Hawks, had a breakout season by leading Shorter with 49 runs batted in and ranking second on the team with 15 doubles and three triples.

She batted .347 with three homers and her .503 slugging percentage ranked second on a potent Lady Hawks’ roster.

Shorter made their deepest run ever in the national tournament, their fourth straight appearance.

Their 51 wins (51-16 overall) are most victories in history of the Lady Hawks' softball program.
