The 2009 Tri-County 4-H Lamb Show was recently held at the Walker County Ag Center. This is an annual 4-H show in which 4-H members from Walker and Dade counties participate.

Dalton Green, 4-H member at Chickamauga Elementary School, won Grand Champion. Devin Edwards, 4-H member at Gordon Lee Middle School, took Reserve Champion honors. Dalton received a $100 savings bond, and Devin got a $50 savings bond as part of their awards. Both savings bonds were provided through the support of Community National Bank in Rossville.

Other local 4-H members who placed well in the show included Brittany Dilbeck, first place in class one; Logan Edwards, first place in class three and first in senior showmanship and Austin Fuquea, second place in class three.

Besides their Champion and Reserve Champion honors Dalton and Devin also did well in showmanship by each winning their respective showmanship division.

Several local businesses sponsored this show. They include AgGeorgia Farm Credit, Walker County Farm Bureau women’s committee, Walker County Farm Bureau young farmer’s committee, Community National Bank, Southeastern Farmers CO-OP and Dade County Farm Bureau. Funding and awards provided by these sponsors made the show possi-ble and allowed the 4-H members involved to be rewarded with ribbons, prize money and other awards.
