Snow thanks supporters

Dear editor:

For more than 18 years, it has been my privilege to serve as a representative in the Georgia General Assembly from Northwest Georgia. It has been the central purpose of my life to care for the people of this community and protect their interests. I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish together.

I want to congratulate Mr. Neal on his election. He now assumes the mantle of public service. It is a sacred trust, and I wish him well.

I will never forget the many kindnesses and courtesies shown me by my supporters. I am eternally grateful.

State Rep. Mike Snow, D-Chickamauga

Scott ‘humbled’ by victory

Dear editor:

I thank the people of Dade and Walker counties for the enormous election victory on Nov. 2. Your support for me is overwhelming, and I am humbled.

Your message to me is loud and clear. I will go down the state house to represent our interests and defend our values.

When it comes to representing our interests, I will work for lower taxes, less government, and laws that encourage personal responsibility.

I want to confirm my campaign commitment to you that I will always defend our values.

I will defend traditional marriage. I will be a voice for those who cannot cry out. I will work to restore the right to life for the unborn, and I will lead the way in defending our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

I thank you, and I ask you to stand with me in securing for future generations the American promise of “one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.”

Martin Scott, representative-elect, Georgia House District 2, Rossville

Suspicious hauntings

Dear editor:

In reference to the possible hauntings at the battlefield, and the group that is investigating it, they don’t seem to be very professional. It seems they’re reaching into darkness and more or less guessing at any findings.

I have captured dozens upon dozens of orbs, anywhere from cemeteries to battlefields, and to where I work. As far as being the real thing, or dust particles, I don’t know.

The thing is, you don’t have to be in a cemetery to find such. They seem to be everywhere, and there is no indication from what I see, or read from the experts, that orbs signify a haunting. Could this whole story have been a result of Halloween coming up?

Great ghost story

Dear editor:

I am writing to you regarding your story on “Ghost Tales: Do restless spirits roam Chickamauga, battlefield?”

This was a great article. I don’t live in your area, but I do read your newspaper online. Not only is it refreshing to not read about someone being murdered or robbed, it was especially enjoyable to read about local history.

Walker County is a county rich in history that affected the entire country, and yet I suspect most North Georgians know very little about what happened there and in the areas nearby. I’ll continue to look for any more ghost stories you may print.
