Tigers Head Coach Eric Beagles said his team is ready to face the best of the best after losing two games last week.
The first was a 9-3 battle with Class A powerhouse Calhoun. The second was a 1-0 loss to Red Bank.
We know there is going to be good quality teams in this tournament,Beagles said. It has some Chattanooga teams in it, but it has a Georgia flavor also. We know were facing good caliber teams and thats what we want.
The Tigers are scheduled to open at McCallie on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Riverdale.
Beagles said win or lose this weekend his team will be working toward their overall goal.
This is just part of our journey, he said. Anything we do in this tournament isnt going to make or break our season. Were just trying to get ready for the region.
Beagles said his team is still far from where it needs to be to compete in the league.
We have an awful long way to go defensively and offensively, he said. But our main goal right now is to just try to make sure the guys dont get caught up in who were playing.
In 2005 the Tigers went 2-2 in the Scentic City Classic, and in 2006 Ringgold finished 1-3
