How do I change the picture that shows on my main screen in Windows?

The picture is the wallpaper on your desktop in Windows. The picture or image is changeable unless you are on a network in an office where the administrator has blocked you from changing it. You can change the image on your desktop in Windows XP with the following steps:

1. Right click in an area on your desktop where there are no icons.

2. Choose Properties.

3. Choose the Desktop tab.

4 You can choose one of the images Microsoft supplies or a solid color (choose it by click-ing colors) or by clicking Browse you can choose any picture on your computer. Remember anyone looking at your computer screen or a print of the screen will see that image.

5. Click OK as need to close out Desktop Properties

6. The images or picture you chose is now your wallpaper.

You can change the image on your desktop in Windows Vista by following these steps:

1. Right click in an area on your desktop where there are no icons

2. Choose Personalization

3. Choose Desktop Background in the main box on right

4 You can choose one of the images Microsoft supplies or a solid color by clicking the pull-down box and then choosing the appropriate one. By clicking Browse you can choose any picture on your computer. Remember anyone looking at your computer screen or a print of the screen will see that image.

5. Click OK and close Personalization

6. The images or picture you chose is now your wallpaper.
