The Middle Georgia Tech Titans (17-12, 6-2) won the outright NJCAA Region XVII title on Saturday with a 64-45 win over Georgia Northwestern at the Rossville Athletic Center.

The Bobcats (8-18, 0-8) led 2-16 at intermission, but the Titans would double up their hosts, 48-24, in the second half.

Titan forward Dwayne Bryant led all scoring with 15 points in the road win. Alex Miller had 13 points, seven rebounds, and a steal for GNTC, while fellow sophomore Bud Todd had six points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots in the effort.

GNTC will next hit the hardwood on Friday night in the first round of the region tournament at Middle Georgia Tech. The Bobcats will take on West Georgia Tech (14-15, 4-4) in the opening game of the tournament.

The tournament champion will earn an automatic bid into this year’s NJCAA National Basketball Tournament.
