FORT OGLETHORPE - After four days of baseball action, the championship games are set for 6, 9, and 11-year-old divisions in the inaugural Rick Honeycutt World Series.

The title game for 6-under Silver bracket was held Tuesday night as Dade County completed an impressive run in the single-elimination tournament.

The Wolverines, seeded sixth out of nine teams, beat third-seeded East Ridge White and second-seeded Ringgold on Monday before knocking off the top-seeded Boynton Scrappers for the title.

The winner of the double-elimination Gold bracket will be decided Wednesday night and it will be a rematch of Tuesday's winners' bracket final that saw Bartow Blue rally from a big early deficit to edge the New Georgia Orioles.

The Macedonia Mustangs eliminated the LaFayette Ramblers on Tuesday, but the Mustangs were sent home by the Orioles in the losers' bracket final, held late on Tuesday.

First pitch of the championship game is slated for 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Orioles will need to beat Bartow twice to claim the championship.

In 9-under action, third-seeded Gordon County's reeled off back-to-back wins over No. 5 Dade County and No. 2 Signal Mountain on Tuesday. They will face top-seeded Bradley County in Wednesday's 6 p.m. title game, needing to win twice to take home the crown.

And in the 11-under bracket, South Cherokee spoiled a possible all-LFORA championship showdown by beating Hixson and the Warriors on Tuesday.

South Cherokee will now face LFO for the title at 6 p.m. Wednesday, also needing two wins to claim the championship.

Bandits win again

The reigning Dizzy Dean 6-under World Series champion Boynton Bandits continued their push toward a 7-under Dizzy Dean state title with a 15-1 pounding of the Canton Stingers on Tuesday in Canton.

Boynton will next face the Oregon Park Sharks at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. With a win, the Bandits would advance to take on Winston Thursday night at 6 p.m. with a spot in Friday's championship game on the line.
