Catoosa County Tea Party to hold candidates forum for sheriff's race

With the upcoming July 31 Republican primary now the deciding election for all Catoosa County races, the couunty’s Tea Party is banking on a large turnout for its sheriff's forum.

The event will be held Thursday, June 28, at The Colonnade on the Benton Place campus off Battlefield Parkway. Brian Joyce, host of WGOW Talk Radio's “Live and Local” show, will serve as moderator.

Candidates for sheriff are Larry Black, Mike Helton, Jeff Holcomb, Ben Scott and Gary Sisk. Sheriff Phil Summers is not seeking re-election.

All questions will be provided by citizens and should be emailed to catoosapatriots@gamil.com.

"A bi-partisasn panel will select the questions to be asked by the moderator," said Tea Party local coordinator Teresa Tatum.

A meet-and-greet for all candidates will be held at 5:30 p.m., with the forum set to start at 7 p.m.
