Employee arrested on theft charges at Fort Oglethorpe Auto Zone

A Rossville man was arrested on theft charges for allegedly stealing money from his employer.

According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:

Charles Ronald Smith, 35, of Rosa Street in Rossville was arrested on Wednesday, May 2.

Officers responded to Auto Zone at 1866 LaFayette Road, where Smith’s employer told police that he caught Smith giving auto parts to customers over the counter and pocketing the money for himself, reports show.

The employer also told police he discovered that the theft had been occurring for a period of six months.
