Volunteers spruce up interior courtyards at Erlanger at Hutcheson. At back right, Hutcheson president and CEO Roger Forgey can be seen. About 35-40 volunteers spent Saturday, April 28, beautifying the grounds at Erlanger at Hutcheson in Fort Oglethorpe. The work day was held in conjunction with National Volunteer Work Week and Earth Day. Forgey, board of directors chair Corky Jewell and board member David Ashburn were among the hospital executives, staffers and residents who lent a hand planting trees, flowers and shrubs in interior courtyards and gardens. The volunteer day will help provide patients, visitors and employees a comfortable, soothing atmosphere, Hutcheson marketing director Haley Johnson said. Black Fox Farm of Cleveland, Tenn., donated shrubbery and Phoenix Inc. Lawn & Landscape of Rossville donated labor and equipment, Johnson said. (Catoosa News photo/Denise Etheridge)
