The Trojans and Lady Trojans combined to win three different events and combined for seven runner-up finishes as the field events were completed at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School on Tuesday.
The meet will finish up at LFO on Thursday with the finals of the track events.
Shay Wooten and Madelyn Lee turned in 1-2 finishes for the Lady Trojans in the shot put and discus. Wooten took the shot put with a throw of 31-feet, 11-inches with Lee placing second (31-1). The positions were reversed in the discus with Lee taking the title with a mark of 84-9 and Wooten placing second (79-2).
Mary Kate Pritchett tied for second in the pole vault with Lakeview's Ashlee Adamson at 6-6, while Gordon Lee's Addison Whitman was fourth (6-0). Ringgold's Bethany Headrick won the event with a leap of 7-0.
Katelyn Bickett was second in the high jump (4-6) behind Adamson's mark of 5-0, and Lyndsey Payne was fourth in the long jump (12-6 1/4).
Rossville's Autumn Jackson won the girls' long jump with a mark of 14-6, recording the only win and the only top four finish of the day for the Blue-and-White.
LaFayette's girls got a pair of third-place showings from Raleigh Lewis in the shot put (28-7) and the discus (73-8 1/2). E.J. Ratledge was fourth in the discus (69-9 1/2), Shayla Youngblood was third in the long jump (12-6 3/4), and Madison Harris tied Headrick and Heritage's Madison Gray for third in the high jump (4-4).
Chattanooga Valley got second place points from Marquila Davis in the long jump (13-1/4), and Ringgold's Cami Tarver took fourth in the shot put (26-11).
On the boys' side, Andrew Towns had a solid Tuesday for the Trojans. A school record holder in the pole vault, he won the event with a mark of 10-6 while teammate Drew Cobb's vault of 9-6 was more than enough to take second place. Towns also placed third in both the shot put (36-4) and the long jump (16-9).
Gordon Lee's Andrew Mummert was second in the discus (106-8) while teammates Landon Lewis and Tanner Ellis tied for second in the high jump with LaFayette's Jeremiah Clayton at 5-2. Chattanooga Valley's Marquie Davis won the event at 5-4.
Ringgold's Jesse Wade also had a good day for the Tigers, winning the shot put (37-0) and taking third in the discus (93-5). Clipper Smith gave the Tigers a second event win as his throw of 107-9 won the discus while Jacob Anderson was third in the pole vault (7-6).
The day's final victory was turned in by Chattanooga Valley's Blaine Phillips, who took long jump honors with a mark of 17-11 1/2.
Clayton also picked up points for LaFayette with a runner-up finish in the shot put (36-5). Adam Ellisor was second in the long jump (17-6 3/4) with Latavious McClinic placing fourth (16-6 3/4). David McCurry capped the day for the Ramblers with a fourth-place finish in the discus (85-2).
Heritage's Jacob Anderson was third in the pole vault (7-0) while teammate Jorge Ramos was fourth in the shot put (36-1).
Thursday's action will begin at 4 p.m.
