Terry Wayne Gregg, 65, LaFayette
Terry Wayne Gregg of LaFayette died Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was 65.
He has a member of Wood Station Baptist Church. He worked for the City of LaFayette for the past twenty years as an animal control officer. He also worked at Roper Corp., E.T Barwick Mills, and Flav-O-Rich. He had a passion for baseball. He loved to referee the LaFayette High School football games, and to umpire and referee the LaFayette Rec. League.
He was preceded in death by mother, Marie Gregg Johnson; grandparents, William and Ana Mae Gregg.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Ann Gregg; daughters, Nicole and husband Shane Harris of LaFayette, Melissa and husband Bill Polter of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Melinda Gregg of Kingsport, Tenn.; son, Scott and wife Veronica Gregg of Knoxville; sister, Angie and husband Chuck Davis of Greenville, Tenn.; grandchildren, JuliAnna, Jackson, Gavyn, Gabryelle, Zack, Samantha, and Jessie; three great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Lavonda Studdard, Ted and Nona Askew; nieces and nephews, and special friend, Trecia Whitten also survive.

Amy Frances Sanders, 72, East Ridge
Amy Frances Sanders of East Ridge died on Friday, April 27, 2012. She was 72.
She was the daughter of the late Paul and Betty Kendrick Gannaway. She was of the Baptist faith and was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas “Andy” Allen.
Survivors include her loving husband, Mike Sanders,.

James Everett Huitt, 86, Rock Spring
James Everett Huitt of Rock Spring died Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was 86.
He was a lifelong resident of north Georgia and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dora Garner Huitt; twin brother, Joseph Edward Huitt and brothers, Lavern Huitt and Clyde Lee Huitt.
Survivors include his daughter, Janice Graham of Rock Spring; son, Robert Huitt of Chattanooga; sister, Kitty Hawkins of Mich.; brothers, Uhlan Huitt of Fla. and Ralph Huitt of Costa Rica; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Betty A. Fairchild, 81, Rossville
Betty A. Fairchild of Rossville died Thursday, April 26, 2012 in a local healthcare facility. She was 81.
She was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church and her passions in life were making ceramics, making dolls, her flowers, gardening, sewing, bird watching and she love attending church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert (Alb) Fairchild, Sr.; parents, Robert B. And Mary Jane Doss Newman; brother, James Newman and sisters, Bobbie Nell Cyree and Peggy Murphy.
Survivors include her five children, Fay Marsh, John Albert (Debra) Fairchild, Jr., Pat (Bill) Worley, Rhoda Fairchild (Steve) and Sandy Finney; brother, John Franklin Newman, twenty grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Louise “Weezy” Clark, 77, Ringgold
Mary Louise “Weezy” Clark of Ringgold died Thursday, April 26, 2012. She was 77.
She was born to the late William Byrd “Brub” Clark and Alice Longwith Clark in Tunnel Hill on Dec. 27, 1934. She served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from Shirley of Atlanta with 25 years of service. She loved the beach, gardening, traveling, but most of all, helping others. She was a mother figure to her entire family, whom she loved deeply.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Kiefer and Barbara Ann Clark; brothers, Cecil Clark and William “Bill” Clark, Jr.
Survivors include two sisters and brother-in-law, Alice Johnson of Ringgold, Edith “Edie” and Mick Brock of Georgetown, Ky.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard W. Clark, Sr. and Barbara Clark of Ringgold; fifty nieces and nephews; 31 great-nieces and -nephews; several great-great nieces and -nephews.

Ronald Franklin Green, 73, Ringgold
Ronald Franklin Green of Ringgole died Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was 73.
He was a lifelong resident of the Ringgold area and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time on his porch swing and was always putting others’ needs before his own. He retired from Catoosa County Road Department in 2002 after more than 42 years of service and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Martha Lous Green; sister, Mary Evelyn James and brother, Ralph Green.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 52 years, Connie Green; sons, Terry and Gary Green; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and John Ellish all of Ringgold; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Juanita Green of Tunnel Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Bryson, Betty and Jim Rivers, Linda and Lamar Hixon, Judy and Wendal Babb and Jewel and Lamar Silvey, all of Ringgold; two grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon Ellish; great granddaughter, Kirsten Beard and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service: Sunday, April 29 at noon in the Anderson Memorial Gardens with Bro. Wendal Babb officiating. James “Bill” King, 86, Rock Spring
James “Bill” King of Rock Spring died at his home Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was 86.
He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served in the South Pacific and in the Korean War as a medical pharmacy mate. He was a member of LaFayette First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan King.
Survivors include his sons, James William King Jr. of Kensington, Md., Charles Knox King of DeSoto, Wis., Mark Lesley King of Coral Spring, Fla.; sisters, Wynona King of Evans, Juanita King of Greenville, S.C.; brother, Mack King of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

William Virgil Nichols of Ringgold died Saturday, April 28, 2012. He was 47.
He was born to the late Cecil Ray and Opal Ruth Nichols on October 13, 1964. He worked for Bi-Lo in East Brainerd for 28 years and attended New Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Pam (Randy) Neely of Ringgold; two brothers, Dorsey (Faye Robinson) Nichols of Ooltewah and Timmy (Lynn) Nichols of Havelock, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.

He was of the north Georgia and Chattanooga Valley areas and attended Mount Airy Baptist Church. He was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed sports, movies and spending time with friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Morris.

John Mark Harris, 54, Fort Oglethorpe
John Mark Harris of Ft. Oglethorpe died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He was 54.
A native and lifelong resident of Catoosa County, he was employed as a supervisor with Shaw Industries and attended Battlefield Parkway Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred L. Harris Sr.

Joyce Fielding Ellis of Rossville died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at a local health care facility. She was 84.
She was a lifelong resident of Rossville where she was a longtime and faithful member of the Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class. Her passions in life were her church and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emma Fielding; three sisters, Lorena Dick, Ira Wittler and Lois Boyd; and two brothers, Robert and Earl Fielding.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Charles H. Ellis, Sr.; two sons, Charles H. Thomas Clifton Jenkins of Ringgold died Wednesday, April 25, 2012. He was 71. He was born in Ringgold to the late James Andrew and Dorothy Mae Lands Jenkins on October 5, 1940. He reitred from F.M. Russell Construction and was a member of Jesus Name House of Prayer. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Virginia Jenkins; one sister and several brothers.

Sandra Jo Haddock Lackey, 67, LaFayette
Sandra Jo Haddock Lackey of LaFayette died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was 67.
She was a lifelong resident of north Georgia who grew up in Boynton. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a 1963 graduate of Ringgold High School. She was an avid horse enthusiast.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Lee Haddock.

James Morris Rutledge, Jr., 64, East Ridge
James “Jim” Morris Rutledge Jr. of East Ridge died Monday, April 23, 2012. He was 64.
He was of the Christian faith. He graduated from Baylor and the University of Georgia with a master’s degree in business management. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He loved golf and had a lifelong involvement with the automobile industry that started with Rutledge Chevrolet in LaFayette. He was a former member of the National Automobile Dealers Association and was currently a market area manager with Credit Acceptance.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Morris Rutledge Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel Gravitt Rutledge; son, James “Jay” M. Rutledge III and wife, Mikki; daughter, Lindsey R. Rutledge; grandchildren, Jackson and Ryan Rutledge; former wife, Becky Williams Rutledge.

Isabelle Holmes Jones, 91, Chickamauga
Isabelle Holmes Jones, born March 3, 1921, died peacefully at her home in Chickamauga, Sunday evening, April 22, 2012. She was 91.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and mentor. She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga/Chickamauga area. A graduate of East Tennessee State Teachers College, she was a mathematics teacher in the Chickamauga school system for many years until her retirement in 1985. During that time, she received her master’s degree from the University of South Carolina and taught mathematics at Lander Collegein Greenwood, S.C., for two years and at Henderson High School in Atlanta for three years. She was a dedicated church member and was a member of Hope Fellowship Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Chickamauga.
Survivors include John William, her husband of 64 years; her sons, Stephen (Sarah) and Andrew; grandchildren Faith (David), Andrew (Charity), Elisabeth, and Abigail; and three great grandchildren, Isabelle Ann, Jack and Lena.

Debra Louise Harwood Doss, 53, Ringgold
Debra Louise Harwood Doss of Ringgold died Sunday April, 22, 2012. She was 53.
She was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia and Chattanooga area, and was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Betty Jo Grady Harwood.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee Doss of Ringgold; two daughters, Christina Young (Richard) of Ringgold and Lorie Teems (Richard) of Summerville; sister, Susie Shultz of East Ridge, Tenn.; half-sister, Linda White of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two half-brothers, Gary Brackett of Rossville and Larry Harwood of East Ridge, Tenn.; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Fred T. Farr, Sr., 80, Rock Spring
Fred T. Farr of Rock Spring died Monday, April 23, 2012 at a local hospital. He was 80.
He was a lifelong resident of Walker County, where he was a member of the Rossville High School Class of 1949, was an active volunteer with the Chattanooga Food Bank, the Crisis Center, and the Cottage, and was a member of McFarland United Methodist Church and the Primetimers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a private investigator with Pinkerton Investigation for 10 years, he retired in 1985 from Combustion Engineering as a supervisor over inspection with 31 years of service, and he had been a bailiff in the Walker County Courts for 26 years.
He was the past president of the Southeastern Boxing Association and was a member of the Golden Gloves of Chattanooga. He was also instrumental in coaching and training several U.S. boxing teams for the Olympics, including the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. His passions in life were his church, family, volunteering, coaching, working in his yard, and making walking sticks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Leta Bert Farr; and nephew, Matthew Farr.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Francis Farr; three children, Debra (Tim) Mayer of Lewisville, Tenn., Fred Farr Jr. (Zoe) of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and Bobby “George” (Terrye) Farr of Rossville; sister, Jo (Bill) Swindell of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; brother, George W. (Becky) Farr of Chickamauga; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Carol) Farr, Callie (Ryan) Langford, Blake Mayer, and Sgt. Thomas Cobia Farr; two great granddaughters, Torie and Madison; god-child, Ashley Watts; extended family, Kelley and Walt Taylor and Simon Duffy; several nieces and nephews; and his Jack Russell terrier, Buddy.

Paul Olen Wilbanks Sr. of Rossville died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He was 61. He was born in Chattanooga to the late Olen and Willie Wilbanks. He was of the Christian faith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Wilbanks.

Leonard Ross Gray Sr., 80, Atlanta
Leonard Ross Gray Sr. of Atlanta died April 22, 2012 after a long illness. He was 80.
He was born in LaFayette on September 27, 1931, the only son of Lon and Ethel Gray, and grew up in the city of LaFayette in Walker County until leaving to attend college. He was in the service with the U.S. Army during the early fifties. He attended the University of Georgia, and graduated from the business school at the Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia, now known as Georgia State University, in 1955. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity. He was employed before retirement as a sales manager for the Champion Spark Plug Company for approximately 30 years, traveling throughout the south as a regional manager, and worked after retirement for several years preparing tax returns for H&R Block.
After his retirement, he was a trusted advisor, valued assistant and handyman to his children and their growing families and households. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as the extended family grew over the years. He also enjoyed returning often to his hometown of LaFayette, while caring for and visiting relatives and engaging in home and farm upkeep on his Walker County property. He possessed a very good sense of humor and encouraging attitude. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Louise Proctor Gray, formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn.; his three sons, his daughter and their families: son Leonard R. Gray Jr. of Tucker, and his wife Lisa Corriher Gray, and grandchildren Stuart, Mitchell and Mary; son Gordon R. Gray of Johns Creek, and his wife Barbara Gray, and their daughters Alexandra delPortillo and husband Alfredo delPortillo, and Vera O’Sullivan and her husband Ryan O’Sullivan; daughter Alicia L. Gray of Alpharetta; son Kerry M. Gray of Sugar Hill, and his wife Luz Amparo Gray, and grandson Thomas Ross Gray, and granddaughter Ana Maria Florez Martinez and her husband Mario Martinez; and great-granddaughter, Liliana Sofia Martinez.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., spent most of her life in Rock Hill, S.C., and resided in Ringgold for the last 12 years. She was a member of Ringgold United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed working in their gardens.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jessie Cooper.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Howard Fossett; daughter, Melinda (Jeff) Bryant of Spokane, Wash.; brothers, Clarence (Yvonne) Cooper of Chattanooga, Carl (Karen) Cooper of Ooltewah; sisters, Linda (John) Kingsley of Jacksonville, Fla., Barbara Love of Ringgold; and several nieces and nephews.

Chester Willis Sparks of Fort Oglethorpe died Monday, April 23, 2012 at his home. He was 79.
He was born in Sherwood, Tenn., to the late Chester and Liza Kate Sparks. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved sports and enjoyed playing golf, and was of the Baptist faith.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Shelvie Sparks and son, Roger Sparks.

Tonya Ann Craig White of Rossville, formerly of Lookout Mountain, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at her residence. She was 50.
She was a graduate of Northwest Georgia High School and a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church. She was employed as a sales representative with Stericycle for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Gail Craig; and sisters, Sherry Wilson and Paula Craig.

Geneva Tate Kelly of Chattanooga died Friday, April 20, 2012. She was 88.
She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Chattanooga. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kelly Sr.; parents Seab and Tressie Tate, and sister, Evelyn Tate.

Nancy Smith Emous, 81, Monteagle
Nancy Smith Emous of Monteagle, Tenn., passed away peacefully April 20, 2012, after a brief hospitalization due to illness. She was 81.
Born in East Orange, N.J., she spent most of her childhood years in Riverside and Greenwich, Conn. She graduated high school from Greenwich Academy. After high school,l she worked for many years in New York City and became one of the first female account managers at J. Walter Thompson, handling accounts such as Eastman Kodak. She married Bram Emous and had a son. She later divorced and moved back to Greenwich, where she lived for many years, changed jobs and ran a successful home based Shaklee business which allowed her to spend more time at home. Her hobbies included tennis, reading and volunteering for the American Red Cross.
She was a member at Christ Church in Greenwich. She was a caring mother. She was close to Christi-Ann Emous, daughter to Bram Emous from a subsequent marriage. She was always passionate at whatever she did, in particular her devotion to friends and family. Her laughter was infectious. In her late fifties she developed macular degeneration. In her mid-seventies, after a stroke, she moved to the Chattanooga area to be near her son.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Francis Cutter Cooke.
Survivors include her brother Charles C. Smith of Colebrook, Conn., his children and grandchildren; her son and daughter-in-law, Jan Derek and Dawn Emous of Ringgold; three grandchildren; and cousins, Sam and Lee Townsend and Sam’s children.

Donald Ray Dennis of East Lake died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at his residence after a very brave and tough battle with cancer. He was 62.
He was born in 1950 to the late John and Laura Masters Dennis. He was a very active member of the bingo community in Rossville, had a passion for classic American cars and old western movies. He was a beloved father, life-partner, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene “Lil Gene” Howard, Jr.; grandson, Johnathan Tyler; brother, Johnny; sister, Shirley; and life partner, Deborah Gail Davis.

Vernon Eugene Garret of Chickamauga died on Monday, April 16, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was a lifelong resident of Sand Mountain and Chickamauga and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He retired in 1994 from Synthetic Industries and had also worked at Crystal Springs Bleachery for many years. His passions in life were his family, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle, country music, and enjoying the company of his dogs.

Kenneth Claude Sitton of Ringgold died Monday, April 16, 2012 at his residence. He was 65.
He was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, where he served during the Vietnam War, was a retired employee of Norfolk Southern Railway, where he worked for 37 years, and attended Crosspointe Church in Ringgold. He was a member of the Dekalb County RC Flyers. He enjoyed building and flying RC air planes, model railroading and woodcarving.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jackie Talley Sitton and mother-in-law, Willie Marie Pulley.

Bonny Jean Nichols Thomas, Chickamauga
Bonny Jean Nichols Thomas of Chickamauga died on April 11, 2012.
She was born in Columbia and graduated from Ward-Belmont Conservatory of Music in Nashville, Tenn. She was married to Heatwole Campbell (Tommy) Thomas. Last Novemeber they celebrated 65 years of marriage. They raised their four children on Signal Mountain, Tenn. She worked for 20 years in the pharmacy at Newell Hospital. She and her husband owned and operated Hidden Hollow Resort.
She was full of life and people loved her. She sang in the Signal Mountain Ladies Glee club, played the church organ and the piano for 14 years first at Wayside Presbyterian Church and the Little Brown Church in Signal Mountaon, Tenn. She introduced the first clogging team in Chattanooga. She and her husband were known for their “hoedown” parties. She was also a national dance festival instructor.
She was predeceased by her son Chip Campbell Thomas and her parents, Bonny Belle Journey Nichols and Claude W. Nichols; brothers, David and Jack.
Survivors include her three children, Bonny Belle Thomas Lee (Robert) of Roanoke, Va.; Sally Jean Thomas Worland (David) of Chickamauga; Tommy Heatwole Thomas of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bonny Journey Lee, Captain Nathan Campbell Thomas, USMC, Sarah Katherine Thomas, Lt. Craig Thomas Worland, USMC, (Taylor), Scott Campbell Worland, (Bonnie), Bonny Jean Worland, Suzannah Sally Worland; and a special family friend, Logan Francis Thomas.

Sylvia Marie Calhoun of Ringgold died Saturday, April 14, 2012. She was 82.
Survivors include her son, Warren (Cindy) Calhoun of Ringgold; sister, Janet (John) Heyde of Rock Spring; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Ronald J. Seifert Sr. of Ringgold died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at a local hospital. He was 73.

Mary Francis Smith Haney of Chickamauga died Monday, April 16, 2012. She was 85.
She was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga, a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and retired from Crystal Springs in 1980.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Haney; parents, Francis Clyde and Ida Belle Gamblin Smith; and brother, Douglas Lamar Smith.
Survivors include her sister, Annie Ruth Smith Melcher (Stan) of Chickamauga; brother, James Cecil Smith (Emily Alice) of Kennesaw; and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald Allen Smith, 66, Chattanooga
Ronald Allen Smith of Chattanooga died Monday, April 16, 2012. He was 66.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, was of the Baptist faith and was employed with United Wrecker Service. He was loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Margaret Smith.
Survivors include his nephew and spouse, Curtis and Cindy Wilson of East Ridge, Tenn.; two great nephews, Curtis Wilson, Jr. and Bobby Wilson and two great nieces, Casey Wilson and Holly Wilson.

Gloria Mae Smith Vickers, 67, Manchester
Mrs. Gloria Mae Smith Vickers of Manchester died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was 67.
She was born January 21, 1945 in Franklin County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Jesse and Myrtle Jones Smith. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Christian Life Church in Tullahoma and attended Center Grove Baptist Church in Rock Spring.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Vickers and three brothers, Charles, J. T. and Samuel Smith.
Survivors include one son, Randy Smithson of Manchester; one daughter, Dr. Lisa Brooks and her husband Duane, of Rock Spring; two brothers, Robert Smith and his wife, Wanda of Tullahoma and Albert Smith and his wife, Pam of Tullahoma; three sisters, Hazel O’Neal and her husband, Doug of Normandy and Della and Marie Smith, both of Ky.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services: Tuesday, April 17 at 1 p.m. at Farrar Hill Cemetery with Bro. Tony Buchanan officiating. Visitation: Tuesday, from 10:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. General Manuel Zegarra, 86, Rock Spring
General Manuel E. Zegarra of Rock Spring died Friday, April 13, 2012 after a brief illness at a local hospital. He was 86.
He was born in Port of Casma, Peru, on June 18, 1925 to the late Manuel and Carmen Zegarra. He led a very distinguished military career in the Peruvian Army that culminated with his assignment as Military Attache for the Peruvian government in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Cynthia; son, Manuel and wife Myriam; daughters, Ana Maria, Michelle, Rosana and husband, Don Mann; son, Nicholas and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Manuel, Rosa Maria, Salem, Nicolas, Annaliese, Michael, Anthony, Sebastian and Hana Maria; sister, Betty; brothers, Jose and Luis; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial mass: Thursday, April 19 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Jim Vick officiating. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Zacharie David Brodeur, 22, Ashburnham
Zacharie David Brodeur of Ashburnham died Saturday, March 31, 2012 doing what he enjoyed, riding dirt bikes. He had an accident that caused his death. He was 22.
He was born in Leominster on November 21, 1989. He had lived in LaFayette for several years and went to school there. He worked for the MART as a cleaner and refueler in Fitchburg. He loved living on the lake, where he enjoyed fishing. He was proud of his Georgia roots, and as a child he was very close to his grandparents. Zacharie was a great dad and husband. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Vanessa L. (Eaton) Brodeur; daughter, Jasmine L. Brodeur; father and step-mother, David G. and Ann Brodeur of Ashburnham; mother, Sheilagh Winter of Ga.; paternal grandmother, Juliette Brodeur of Fitchburg; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Mahan; half brothers, Keefe Kittridge of Ashburnham and Bradley Winter of Georgia; half sister, Kaitlyn Winter of Georgia.; aunts, Joan and Melissa, Lynda and Caroline Mahan of Arizona; uncle, Wayne Mahan of Arizona.

Betty Lawrence Byrd Shelby of LaFayette died Saturday, April 14, 2012. She was 85.
She was retired from the Bank of LaFayette and was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette.
She is preceded in death by a son, Mike Byrd.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Shelby of LaFayette; daughter, Karen Penland of Chickamauga; grandchildren, Rick, Jake, Kori Penland; great grandchildren, Anabelle and Owen Penland; several nieces and nephews.

Horace W. Wilbanks, 71, Rock Spring
Horace W. Wilbanks of Rock Spring died Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was 71.
He was born to the late Jessie and Geneva Reeves Wilbanks on March 5, 1941 in Stevenson, Ala. He had lived in the north Georgia area since 1962. He was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church where he was a member of the Center Grove Brotherhood and the Men’s Sunday school class. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting antique cars and was the owner/operator of Wilbanks Wrecker Mounting for many years.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Beatrice and Ruth Freeman and Geneva Wilbanks; brothers, David and Jimmy Wilbanks.

Survivors include her father, Bob Hamilton of Harold, Ky.; 9 children, Billy Hamilton of Fort Oglethorpe, Kenny Cline of Chattanooga, Della McCabe, Janell Cline, Shiela Coots, all of East Ridge, Earl and Paul Stephens, both of Detroit, Mich., Nathan Cline, Trambel Stephens both of Chattanooga; 10 siblings, Bud, Tommer, Karmel Hamilton, Aileen Hall, Connie Mitchell, Bonnetta Hamilton, Helen Salisbury, Lois Tackett, Jan Stanley, Eva Sue Hamilton; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
