Fort Oglethorpe police are looking for a man who, they say, attempted to steal Playstation games from Wal-Mart. The suspect works at the McDonald’s restaurant inside the store, police say.

According to Fort Oglethorpe Police reports:

Officers responded to the Wal-Mart at 3040 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway) on Monday, March 19, after store employ-ees reported that a white male, identified as William Padget, fled the store following a busted shoplifting attempt.

Padget was seen fleeing the scene in a maroon-colored van with a Georgia license plate (AKK0072), reports show.

“The employee advised that he attempted to apprehend a white male shoplifter who was attempting to steal two Playstation games,” officer Chad Cardin wrote in the report. “He also stated that upon approaching the offender, he realized that the subject worked at the McDonald’s inside Wal-Mart and still had his uniform on.”

Padget was escorted back to the McDonald’s to speak to the manager, but then he ran out of the store, reports show.

Information was then obtained from McDonald’s, which identified him as William Padget.

A warrant is outstanding for Padget’s arrest. Anyone with information on the suspect is encouraged to contact the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department at 706-866-2512.
