EDUCATION · The Chickamauga City Board of Education will have a special called meeting Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m. for the purpose of receiving an oral exit report from the visiting Quality Assurance Review Team in con-junction with theChickamauga City School System Accreditation.

COMMUNITY · Cherokee Ridge Elementary School will be featured in a one-hour documentary on “Spotlight on Schools” from 4 to 5 p.m. on local cable channel UCTV: North Georgia Comcast 265, Charter 5 and Chattanooga Comcast 96.

ENTERTAINMENT · A free promo event for the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam Thunder Nationals will be held from 2-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Advance Auto Parts store parking lot on Alabama Highway (Ga. 151) in Ring-gold. A USHRA (United States Hod Rod Association) Monster Truck driver and truck will be on hand to greet fans. EDUCATION · The Board of Education will participate in an extended work session Thursday, Feb. 2. The work session will be held at the Board of Education Office on 307 Cleveland Street, Ringgold, in the board room. The meeting is scheduled from 9 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. for the purpose of preparing for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools team visit.

COMMUNITY · LFO High School is offering studio space for local artists and classes for community members. Art-ists wishing to utilize the art room and equipment are welcome to attend any of the scheduled evening sessions working in your medium. Room 310 will be open from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. each evening. COMMUNITY · LaFayette High will sponsor a public information program on anti-bullying at 2:10 p.m. on Fri-day, Feb. 3, in the gym. The program, "Above and Beyond," will be presented by a nationally-recognized organiza-tion in the effort to prevent bullying. Parents are invited to attend. COMMUNITY · Northwest Georgia Family, a support group caring for families with special needs, meets the first Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at LaFayette First Baptist Church. Denny Whitesel, a family counselor, will speak on “Lasting love: Marriage when raising children with special needs.” Dinner and childcare are free for those who pre-register by Feb. 3.
