An 18-year-old Ringgold man is in the Catoosa County jail after, police say, he admitted to having sexual relations with a young girl in early September.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office:

Dallas Javier William Wells of 28 Sprout Lane was arrested Thursday, Oct. 13, and charged with statutory rape and child molestation stemming from an incident that took place at a residence in Ringgold on Sept. 6.

On Sept. 6, detectives spoke with a complainant who stated that a young girl was brought to the health depart-ment for birth control, at which time she disclosed that she had been sexually active with an older man at his resi-dence.

On Oct. 11, two warrants were obtained on Richard Donovan Smiley of Amy Lane in Ringgold for statutory rape and child molestation regarding the complaint by the victim.

Smiley is believed to now be staying at an address in Dahlonega, Ga.

During the investigation of the case, it was discovered that Wells allegedly had sexual intercourse with a second victim on the same night as Smiley and also the first victim at Smiley’s residence.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, Wells met with detectives at the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, where he admitted to hav-ing sex with the second victim on the night of Sept. 6.

The alleged victim is listed as under the age of 14.

A $10,000 bond has been set for Wells.

The case is ongoing as detectives are attempting to locate Richard Donovan Smiley on two warrants.
