The Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority and the Walker County Chamber of Commerce sponsored a special program during the Chamber’s April Membership Luncheon to honor Walker County Manufacturers Tuesday, April 26.

The day was declared Manufacturers’ Appreciation Day by Walker County commissioner Bebe Heiskell and an address was given by state Sen. Jeff Mullis.

“I was honored to be a part of Manufacturers’ Appreciation Day,” said Sen. Jeff Mullis. “Manufacturers are the backbone of our country and play a huge role in our economy.”

Over thirteen manufacturing companies were represented and recognized at the luncheon.

“Manufacturers are a very important aspect of Walker County’s businesses. They employ our citizens to produce goods which are purchased all over the world,” said Stephanie Snodgrass, president of the Walker County Chamber of Commerce. “It was our privilege to showcase their specialties as well as honor the hard work done to make Walker County a wonderful place to live and work.”
