Former LaFayette softball standout Charlsie Broome collected eight more hits this past weekend as the Shorter Hawks went 3-3 and finished second in the Silver Bracket of the Gulf Coast Invitational Tournament.

Broome had multiple hits in three of the six games, including a 3-of-4 outing against Cumberland (Tenn.) where she ripped a three-run triple.

The junior leads NAIA's No. 10-ranked team in batting average (.476) and stolen bases (14).
