Boynton Elementary School’s fourth and fifth graders recently participated in the annual spelling bee.

There were two contestants from each class in each grade.

In the fourth grade, Allen Steele came in first place with Nathan Leal coming in second. In the 5th grade competition, Grace Beagles won on the word herringbone with Ryan Harris coming in second place.

Beagles and Steele will represent Boynton Elementary at the Catoosa County Spelling Bee to be held at Tiger Creek Elementary Feb. 15.

In the case that either of these contestants are unable to attend the competition, Boynton will then be represented by the second place winner.
