Completing farm tax returns can be complicated, especially with changes in tax laws. We have just received a supply of the IRS publication 225, Farmer’s Tax Guide. Of course, these are free to anyone who would like to pick-up a copy at the Extension Office. This publication is available annually at the Extension Office to help farmers understand the new tax changes. The publication includes sections on self-employment taxes, retirement plans, soil and water conservation expenses, your rights as a taxpayer and much more.
I am sure that income taxes are not the first thing on everyone’s list right now, but those interested in this publication should drop by the Walker County Extension Office at 102 E. Napier Street in LaFayette to get a free copy while supplies last.
