· Between 7 p.m. on March 30 and 9 a.m. on March 31, a theft and criminal damage to property occurred on Tunnel Hill Road in Tunnel Hill resulting in the theft of an air conditioning unit valued at $5,000.

The victim told police that a neighbor called him stating that someone had destroyed and stolen the unit from the property.

The property is currently unoccupied as the property is in foreclosure.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that pieces of one unit were missing while the other unit was still intact.

No model or serial numbers were available at the time of the report.

The case was turned over to detective Larry Black.

· Between March 20 and April 2, a residential burglary occurred on Page Road in Rossville, resulting in the theft of more than $800 worth of cash and merchandise from the home.

Police were initially called by a woman who told police that someone entered the residence occupied by her elderly mother and aunt, and that several items were taken from the home.

Each of the women residing in the home stated that they had a fireproof safe under their bed, and that the safes were pried open with the contents stolen.

Four rings and a set of deeds to a burial plot were taken from one of the safes, while approximately $215 in collectable coins were taken from the second safe.

There were no signs of forced entry into the home; however, the victims did state the several of the windows in the home do not lock and that a key to the home was under the front doormat at the time of the theft.

The case was turned over to detective Timothy Busby.
