With temperature soaring in the high 90s over the Mermorial Day weekend, the pools in Fort Oglethorpe and Ringgold offered a welcome respite fom the baking sun. Both pools opened to crowds of folks, both children and adults. The pools operate through Labor Day weekend at both locations.

· At the Arlene Crye Municpal Pool in Fort Oglethorpe, the hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. The pool is closed on Mondays.

The daily cost of admission is $4. A family that lives within the city limits can purchase a season pass for $150; for non-resident families the cost is $225. Individual season passes are $75 each. Swimmers can purchase a two-hour block for a pool party for $150. Should an extra lifeguard be necessary it will run one an additional $50.

Swim lessons are available for $30 per week per swimmer.

· At the Martha Denton Pool in Ringgold, new management is under Pam Green, most recently the manager at the Ringgold Depot.

“I am looking forward to a good season and making new friends in my new role,” Green said.

The Ringgold pool is open seven days a week. The hours are Mondays through Saturdays, noon until 5 p.m., and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. There is a night swim available on Mondays through Wednesdays from 7-10 p.m.

A family household mmbership costs $125 for the season and individual memberhips run $60 apiece. Private parties start at $50 per hour.
