Car-motorcycle show in Walker County rescheduled for Oct. 1

Due to a weather forecast of rain and possible thunderstorms on Monday, the 2011 Labor Day Car & Motorcycle Show has been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 1.

There will be no change in all other scheduled weekend events including “Santa’s Poker Run” motorcycle ride on Sunday, beginning at the Walker County Civic Center, U.S. 27, in Rock Spring. Registration will start at 11:30 a.m., with the last bike out at 1:30 p.m. Entry fee is $25, which includes a T-shirt and barbecue sandwich plate and door prize drawing at end of ride.

On Sunday, a ‘50s and ‘60s Sock Hop dance begins at 7 p.m. at the Walker County Civic Center. Entertainment will include Paul Smith and the Bourbon Street Band, Jimmy Tawater Band and Walt’s Karaoke.

A rain date for the car and motorcycle show will be on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Walker County Civic Center. Registration will be held from at 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

All proceeds go to the Al Millard Memorial Stocking Full of Love of Walker County.
