The Northwest Georgia Spring Festival

The Northwest Georgia Spring Festival, being held from May 24 through June 3, 2012, at Cherokee Farms, is a first ever event. Dave Smith, raised in the northwest Georgia town of La Fayette, is the promoter and organizer for this inaugural event. Dave teamed with Team Support Charities Founder, Sam Staffen, and both have over 20 years of experience in the outdoor amusement business. The plan is to turn this privately sponsored event into a State of Georgia sponsored event.

The target region is the northwest Georgia counties of Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker, have over 150,000 people we aim to reach. Since La Fayette is the largest town near the center of the four counties, and it’s Dave Smiths’ hometown, it was chosen to be the host town. The festival will be located north of town on Cherokee Farms located at 2035 Old Mineral Springs Road.

An idepedent midway is the main attraction, as of December 30, and Pre-Sale tickets will be the focus as to how large the midway will be. There will be as many as 48 amusement rides, about 40% will be rides for kids, about 20% will be for everyone, and about 40% will be big kids and adult amusement rides. There is a very good chance there will be Spectacular rides at the festival. We need community support, because if the festival sells over 6000 pre-sale tickets, by April 15 (the last possible day to secure the most up to date and extraordinary rides), there will be a State Fair quality carnival display.

Obviously, we need the communities in northwest Georgia to participate in buying Pre-Sale tickets, but community involvement is a must, as well. There are four food vendors booked
(Note all vendors must read and agree to the "Conditions of Show" before their vendor applications are accepted)
, catering all the main carnival foods, like cotton candy, candy apples, caramel corn, hamburgers, corn dogs, and pizza too, but more are needed. Professional wrestling, Petting Zoo, and a Band Stand are scheduled to be at the NWGSF, but local entertainment is always best. If anyone has any ideas and the ability to direct extra activities, please contact Dave Smith, with your proposal.
